Just follow these simple instructions to create your own personal favorite room freshener for a fraction of the cost of purchasing a ready-made item…and the best part is that you get to choose all-natural sustainable ingredients from suppliers that you trust.

How to make a diffuser solution

The Ingredients

1. Carrier Oil: Select a lightweight unscented carrier oil like Jojoba, Sweet Almond, Sunflower, or Grapeseed Oil

2. Essential Oil: What is your favorite essential oil that conjures the mood that you desire for your room of choice? Don’t limit your self to a single oil…experiment with mixtures of essential oils to achieve the benefits of the synergy created when you mix a base-note, a mid-note and a top-note.

3. Solvent: Rubbing Alcohol or vodka enables the essential oils to diffuse through the reeds

Mixing Procedure

1. In a glass container, combine your carrier oil with your choice of essential oil(s)

2. A recommended ratio is 25-35% essential oil(s) and 65-75% carrier oil - but this can be adjusted to suit your personal preference and the size of the room

3. Add the solvent; recommended amount is 3 table spoons for 1/2 cup carrier oil/essential oil mix

4. Mix thoroughly to combine all ingredients

Prepare the Reeds

1. Remove any sealant and packaging from the reeds

2. Arrange the reeds loosely in the diffuser bottle

3. Place in a central location in a room and enjoy the fragrance as it soothes your senses
